Paying our Respects
We acknowledge that our business is on Aboriginal land. That the fruits and herbs we use in our drinks are grown on Aboriginal land, specifically, Bundjalung Country. That sovereignty was never ceded and that it always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
We pay our respects to the traditional owners, and we pay 1% of our sales to First Nations organisations.
Below are some of the groups we have donated to and links to find out more about their work.
-
Currie Country Social Change is a local matriarch-led, sovereign First Nations organisation advancing environmental, cultural and economic justice through Country-led leadership. Guided by ancestral law, grounded in First Nations science and driven by the wisdom of women and communities who carry intergenerational knowledge. Currie Country Social Change is a very exciting local organisation that we are grateful to support via Mullum Seed.
-
NSW Aboriginal Legal Service - Free legal support, law reform and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in NSW and ACT.
-
Seed Mob - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice.
-
Koori Mail - After our town of Lismore was flooded, we donated to get the Koori Mail back on its feet. The Koori Mail is an Aboriginal community owned and run fortnightly newspaper. It's available nationally and it's very cool.
-
Coolamon Community Org - Works in our local area to support First Nations mums and their new babies.
-
Sisters Inside - While not exclusively for Indigenous people, Sisters Inside provides vital support to Indigenous women and girls, who are disproportionately represented in the prison population.
We are always open to new suggestions.
